The Intellectual Property Promotion Week commenced in Kunming on April 20 to celebrate the 26th World Intellectual Property Day which falls on April 26, according to Kunming Daily.

The week-long event was sponsored by the province's Intellectual Property Office and aims to promote laws and regulations regarding intellectual property protection by holding a series of lectures and consulting activities.

Training sessions at schools and enterprises will also be carried out during the week to raise awareness of intellectual property and conduct checks at malls and markets to crack down on illegal activities and protect intellectual property.
