Comment on "Norway twin shootings killer is likely 'insane': Lawyer" (China Daily website, July 26)

I don't believe that the man responsible for killing dozens of people in Norway, Andres Behring Breivik, is insane. Unlike his claim, he does not belong to any extremist group.

What he is left with now is his lonely sojourn in this world, where he could gain publicity for his unpopular and unaccepted selfish ambitions. The morbidity and cruelty with which he carried out the attacks reflect his desperation to gain publicity.

He thought that after having committed the heinous crime he would not be alone. At the very least, his is a case of morbid narcissism. He deserves to be punished according to the law for what he has done.
