English schools and education are still considered some of the best in the world, yet students seem to work half the time and with half the effort of Chinese students here! In the UK I even had parents complain that their children got too much homework! To Chinese parents and some authorities, students are bottles to be filled with knowledge by rote methods, and where is the encouragement of lifelong enjoyment of learning and discovery in that?
