Summer vacations around the world

I lived in the UK and our university exams would finish the end of May, and if you were lucky start in May you would have almost four months of holidays. My first year I did what I always do every summer and travelled to other countries with friends and my family, however not everyone can afford this, but I've always had a part-time job since I was 16 and paid for my whole education, Plus my grandparents live in Portugal so I would often stay with them.

During high school however, my summers consisted of volunteer work as I enjoyed it and knew it was going to be helpful later on in life.

On my second year however, I spent two months working on my dissertation, studying and doing research volunteer work, and that winter I spent my winter holiday working on an internship in China.

During Easter holiday I would always study as exams were normally a few weeks after and most of the coursework was in by then.

My little sister normally spends most of her holiday at a summer day camp and her school, where they do school activities, but it’s more fun to prepare them for the next academic year. But we see holidays as a time to relax or spend time with the family, so we always take a few days off regardless.
