Ridiculous. That's the only word I can think of if somebody would ask me this. If I was that guy, I'd immediately say that I am not going to pay. If the girl doesn't want me afterwards, she wasn't worth it anyway. Of course, I sometimes help my girlfriend's parents financially, also buy them a new computer or so - but they never ask for help and they never would.

I do believe that I am responsible for all of my family members - for those here in Europe and also for those abroad. That means I help my family. But it does NOT mean that I just hand over such amounts of money to them.
