Should a husband give his whole salary to his wife?

I would not let my wife (fiancée, in this case) have my whole salary. I think the best way is:

a) Have a joint checking account; a house account. This account pays the bills

b) Have a joint savings account. This one is for general family savings, maybe vacations are paid by this account too?

c) Have an education account for each kid. (This is necessary in the US, where higher education is so expensive)

d) Have a "Play Money" account for each spouse. The money in this account is for whatever each individual spouse wants to do. I may spend it on liquor or watches or guns; she may spend hers on shoes, purses, facials, massages, etc. The other spouse has nothing to say about how this money is spent.

In this way, the family can have all needs met, but each spouse can still have some financial independence and fun, even if the other wants to save every penny.
