The one signing a pre-nup has nothing to do with the other's credibility and everything to do with the signer's integrity, and also dignity and honor. If they want to build and maintain trust, they would obviously want to make the statement to the world that they will not try to get their hands on things acquired before marriage. They do just that by signing the pre-nup and putting it in legal writing.
