Taking care of children is hard work. Yes, as grandparents they are getting to spend quality time with their grandchildren but they are also taking on a huge responsibility by raising your children. I would definitely pay my parents or in-laws. If they refused cash I would find another way to pay, grocery & gas cards, pay certain bills, etc.
