Value the overall development of ties across the Straits

IT Chen, chairman of Taipei's Nando Technology Corp., said it is the common aspiration of all Chinese on the mainland and in Taiwan, as well as the compatriots in the world, to seek a fairly stable and prosperous life. "This is the general trend that we are seeking," he said.

Jonathan Yang, senior vice president of Taipei-based Inventec Corp., noted the mainland has a large market, and bilateral economic exchange is now a pillar of cross-Straits relations.

"In Taiwan, the mainstream voice is hoping to safeguard peace and the status quo across the Straits," he stated, affirming that whoever is the winner of the election, he or she cannot avoid the mainstream voice.

He added,"We are anticipating peaceful coexistence and mutual help from both sides."
