Liu Chen

Liu Chen graduated from the Academy of Art & Design at Tsinghua University. She began working at China Daily as an art editor. Now she is in charge of design and illustration for the overseas editions.

Liu Chen: As the saying goes, “Art is rooted in life.” For me, in designing the layout or drawing illustrations, my understanding and recognition of life can be expressed, also, readers resonate with me from my work. I learn layout design from some foreign designers to expand my views; furthermore, to follow the fashion element is necessary for us. About illustration, I like controversial works, and I think some experience I have accumulated in daily life help in improving my imagination. To record a scene or a person by drawing is interesting, which has colored my life. Life is about how to keep yourself pleasant and bring happiness to others at the same time.
