A two-story house sits idly on an arch bridge above a brook in Shengzhou city, East China's Zhejiang province, Sept 26, 2013. Local officials said the illegal building was built atop the bridge in 1991 without any construction authorization or official certificates issued. Some residents still live there despite architectural experts claims the old bridge braces against water currents, and the dangerous building has survived for 22 years by "a coincidence".[Photo/CFP] |
