Zhongguancun has formed an electric vehicle industrial chain in the new energy vehicle sector, covering drive motors, power cells, intelligent transmission systems, electric commercial vehicle integration and other key technologies, owns many representative companies and has formed an electric vehicle industrial cluster.

Automobile technologies from some institutions and companies in the park are in the national leading position, including the drive motor and electronic control of Broad-Ocean Motor and Beijing Institute of Technology, the power cell technology and manufacturing of Pulead Technology Industry Co Ltd and CITIC Guoan Menguli Power Science & Technology Co Ltd, the car automatic fast battery swap and intelligent transport system and electric commercial vehicle integration technology of China Potevio/CNOOC New Energy and Power Ltd.

The park takes the lead in applying more than 2,000 pure electric vehicles. It has formed an industrial cluster represented by China Tex Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Ltd., Enhancement Electric Technology, Broad-Ocean Motor, Pulead Technology Industry Co Ltd CITIC Guoan Menguli Power Science & Technology Co Ltd and China Potevio/CNOOC New Energy and Power Ltd.

The park will attach importance to the R&D and industrialization of key systems of new energy vehicles and put up a new energy vehicle R&D platform. Great effort will be made toward the development of new technologies for vehicle control, on-board energy and drive systems.

The park will also develop power cells, high-power permanent magnet motors for vehicles and other key parts and components. It will research and formulate standards and specifications for electric vehicle charging/battery swap devices, improve supporting infrastructure and service systems and raise the overall technical level of new energy vehicles in the park to an international advanced level.
