The Ministry of Environmental Protection has recently chosen the Wenjiang district of Chengdu, Sichuan province, as a national pilot zone for ecological civilization construction.

In recent years, Wenjiang has unswervingly implemented the strategy of building an ecologically sound district, stressing development of eco-tourism, sports and leisure, medical rehabilitation, modern digital information technology and other service-oriented sectors in its economic development.

The efforts have won the recognition of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and Wenjiang is one of the country’s 52 districts and counties winning the laureate of the national pilot zone for ecological civilization construction.
