Old Street

Beihai was a trading port back in the 1800s, so, the architectures of Old Street bears all the marks of western consular buildings. The embossed window posts and arcade houses in a combination of western and Cantonese style line both sides of the streets. These arcade houses provide good shelter from the wind and rain or from the scorching sun. These old streets have passed through more than a century but are well preserved and can tell people a lot about the past in a silent way.
