Peitian, an ancient Hakka village, lies on a mountain in western Fujian. The village is down the mountain of Guanzhai, a national 4A-level scenic spot.

Peitian ancient dwellings are famous for a structure known as "nine halls and 18 wells," which was a classic style found in the manors of rich families. Together with Hakka earth buildings, or tulou, they represent two distinctive Hakka building styles. In the village, exquisite buildings have been well preserved to pass down Hakka culture.

The dwelling buildings are made up of ancient cultural and religious buildings, including six schools, two academies, two temples and two steles. In addition, visitors can also appreciate the beauty of 20 ancestral halls, 30 ancient houses, a 1,000-meter ancient street with five lanes, and two canals across the village.

The structures are made of wood and brick, with high aesthetic value, structure, design and decorative colors. "Dafudi" is the most famous building in the village. It took 11 years to build during the reign of Emperor Daoguang and has a history of over 170 years.
