BOE is the only enterprise that has the ability to produce a full range of semiconductors display products, and grasps the full technological capabilities of FPD industry independently in China. In 2012, the number of patent applications of BOE reached 2686. The patents output by R & D personnel per capita and per unit is among the first in the world in FPD industry.

BOE has boasted a G5 TFT-LCD production line and a G8.5 TFT-LCD production line in Beijing , a G6 TFT-LCD production line and a G8.5 Oxide TFT-LCD production line in Hefei , a G4.5 TFT-LCD production line in Chengdu , a G5.5 AMOLED production line in Ordos, and Chongqing BOE G8.5 New Semiconductor Display Device and System Project (under construction).

BOE has established 5 business units:

1. Display Device Business: engages in R&D, manufacture and sales of TFT-LCD and AMOLED panels and modules. The TFT-LCD and AMOLED panels and modules developed and manufactured independently by BOE are mainly applied in mobile phone, tablet, notebook, monitor, TV, etc. Superior performances like thin appearance, low energy consumption, color fidelity, high definition image, wide view angle as well as environment-friendliness can meet infinite demands in digital life.

2. Display System Business: engages in R&D, manufacture and sales of display terminal products and systems. BOE constantly insists on being market oriented. Based upon customer's demands, BOE provides design, R&D, sales and after-sales service in display system and service for family use, business use and special use, aiming to provide high-quality audio-visual enjoyment for consumers. Major products include LCD monitor, LCD TV, public display products and special display products, etc.

3. Energy and Environment Protection Business: provides semiconductor lighting products, solar energy application solutions and electricity transmission and distribution device.

4. Electronic Materials Business: provides frames, back boards, optical resists, terminal, wire harness and other related products, materials and services for semiconductor industry, as well as vacuum tubes and other vacuum materials.

5. Science and Technology Business Park Business: provides rental and property services for international enterprises to establish management headquarters, marketing headquarters, R&D headquarters and data center, etc.

As of sept 30st, 2013, BOE has boasted a registered capital of RMB 13.52bn, a net capital of RMB 27.25bn, and a total capital of RMB 90.61bn, with 22980 employees in all.
