Sanmenxia gets its first agricultural cooperatives federation

The Mianchi Huimeng Agricultural Products Cooperative Federation received a license from the industrial and commercial administration of Mianchi county, in the city of Sanmenxia, Henan province, on Dec 20, as the city's first.

The cooperatives federation is the work of the Mianchi Huimeng Edible Fungi Cooperative and has pulled in 22 members working in various types of agriculture, to integrate resources, technology, capital and projects and provide such services as material purchasing for fertilizers, feed, chemicals, and plastic film and agricultural brands registration.

Statistics show Mianchi with more than 100 agricultural cooperatives over all, most of them small —to-mid-sized and under poor management. So, by dealing with problems that individual cooperatives, or government units and farmers cannot handle themselves, the federation can act as a bridge for famers with goods to market and guarantee rapid, stable agricultural development.
