A mechanism named Country of Honor was introduced at the 4th CAEXPO in 2007. Since then, for each CAEXPO, an ASEAN country is invited to be the CAEXPO Country of Honor.

Generally, the sequence of the CAEXPO Country of Honor follows the English alphabetical order of country names.

Country of Honor for the 5th CAEXPO: Cambodia

Country of Honor for the 6th CAEXPO: Lao PDR Country of Honor for the 7th CAEXPO: Indonesia

Country of Honor for the 8th CAEXPO: Malaysia

Country of Honor for the 9th CAEXPO: Myanmar

Country of Honor for the 10th CAEXPO: Philippines

Country of Honor for the 11th CAEXPO: Singapore

Country of Honor for the 12th CAEXPO: Thailand
