Poyang Lake is the "mother lake" of Jiangxi Province.
It features not only a large number of biological resources and fresh water, but also is a resource for the 10 million people who live nearby.
It is one of the top 10 ecological protected areas in China and is deemed one of the world's major ecological regions by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
