The 2016 global innovation report released by Thomson Reuters reports that BOE has become the second largest semiconductor innovator in the world.

With the idea of ‘Advanced technology, world premiere, value co-creation’, BOE adheres to high intensity innovation investment. In 2015, BOE made 6,156 patent applications. More than 80 percent were invention patents, and over 40,000 have been used. According to the state intellectual property office of China, the number of patent applications by BOE was among the top three in each of the last two years, and its number of patent grants ranked fifth in China. The number of BOE’s European patent grants ranked among the top five in the European Patent Office.
