2020 Siming Film Festival is coming

The government of Siming district in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province held a press conference on the upcoming 2020 Siming Film Festival on Nov 19, 2020.

The film festival, a supplementary event of the 33th China Film Golden Rooster Award, is expected to offer a memorable film experience for cinema buffs.

Eight activities will be held during the event, including a Russian film week, Japanese film week, script seminar, VR film screening, and an animated film documentary.

In recent years, the film industry has been recognized as one of Siming district's 10 key industries.

Since 2019, 304 film companies have begun operating and 138 new film projects have begun development in the district, with a total investment of 19.3 billion yuan ($2.9 billion).

The influx of capital, technology, and talent will aid in the construction of a complex industrial chain in Siming and promote the film industry in Xiamen.

Zhang Jianbin, director of the culture and tourism bureau of Siming district, introduced several film and television cultural industrial parks at the conference and invited companies to set up operations.

Moving forward, Siming district will work to adapt to the trends of the film industry, introduce policies that are more in line with the needs of enterprises, and attract more high-quality film and television companies to set up operations in the district.
