Furthermore, Hainan's good ecology is also playing an important role in attracting investors, especially those engaged in the environmentally friendly industries, such as clean energy and creative arts.

Renowned domestic companies like Yingli Solar and Hanergy are now building a number of solar energy facilities in the province, with combined investments estimated at 30 billion yuan during the 2011-15 period.

Also, several creative industry groups turned their focus to the province because of its good environment and promising potential.

Large projects in this field include the Wenchang Aerospace Theme Park, which has a total investment of 3 billion yuan, as well as the 15-billion-yuan Lingshui Smart Network Creativity Park and a film theme park funded by the Changchun Film Group with an investment of more than 14 billion yuan.
