Flower industry turns Gobi wilderness into attractive landscape

Almost 2,000 hectares of apocynum venetum are in full bloom in the Gobi desert near Altay city, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region,June 15,2016. The apocynum venetum ecological industry project began in 2002 in Xinjiang, after 14 years of relentless efforts to get it started. Now, with almost 2,000 hectares of the plant systematically and scientifically cultivated, the scale of the business is so complete that planting, research, production and sales are all well integrated, while the previous wilderness has been transformed into a pretty landscape.[Photo/Xinhua]
