A group of foreigners could not resist the charm of square dance and joined nearly 1,000 Zhengzhou residents dancing at a public square in the capital city of central China's Henan province, reported dahe.cn on Friday.

New name of typhoon called for

China Meteorological Bureau recently started soliciting a new name for typhoon Haiyan, a devastating storm which claimed more than 6,000 lives in the Philippines in 2013, and the winner will be rewarded with an iPhone 6, reported the Beijing News.

According to the rule of the World Meteorological Organization, names of those exceptionally destructive typhoons should be removed from the list, and new names be added to replace the retired ones.

Judges in slack dressing not awe-inspiring

Judges dressed in shabby manner cast doubt over their identity, reported Beijing Times.

Three judges from Wuyi, Hebei province, who were dealing with a civil case in Chengdu, Sichuan province, aroused suspicion from a company involved in the case and the local police for their casual clothing – two of them were wearing sleeveless shirts and one was in his shorts. The three poorly-dressed law-enforcers were put under control by the local police who were later told that they are really judges from the county.

Secret of ticket forger betrayed by call

A ticket counterfeiter who attempted to muddle through in railway station by playing dumb was betrayed by a phone call, reported yzwb.net.

A man was stopped at the entrance of Nanjing Railway Station after fake tickets was found in his bag. During the inquiry, the police officer found the man was unable to speak, and thus took him for further investigation.

10 years of fizzy drinks trigger medical woes

A man in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, developed stones in a kidney and his urinary tract after drinking carbonated drinks rather than water for more than 10 years, Qianjiang Evening News reported on Thursday.

Surnamed Hu, the man, 29, became worried on Wednesday after receiving a medical report that said there was blood in his urine. Doctors told him there was a large number of small stones in his kidney and urinary tract because he drank too many carbonated drinks.

Cellphone cited in divorce hearing

A man surnamed Qiu in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, filed for divorce, citing his wife's cellphone as the "third party", Modern Gold News reported.

Qiu, 29, and his wife, surnamed Chen, 26, married last July, but Qiu said his wife stayed at home chatting, taking "selfies" and shopping online with her phone. He said she did not communicate with him or do any housework.

Zhenhai District Court rejected Qiu's request for a divorce because the judge said there is the possibility of a reconciliation. Chen promised to use her phone less and to do more housework.
