Bird's Nest gets cleaned

The National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, got a thorough cleaning this week.

The local fire brigade was in charge of the massive 4-day operation, using recycled water.

Officers say due to the Stadium's design and weather conditions, the cleaning was mainly carried out during the day time.

A special coating on the steel in the structure should rule out any corrosion problems from the high-pressure washing.

The Bird's Nest was turned into a major tourist attraction after the Olympics, so the seats also get a good cleaning every day.
