Understanding Beijing's Past and Present

The 60th anniversary of the P.R.C is coming, and many Chinese and foreign tourists are arriving to Beijing.

Located at East Qianmen Avenue, Chongwen District, the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall is designed to introduce the long history of the enduring city through displays that highlight urban planning and development achievements.

This is a wooden model of the Forbidden City that is 200 times smaller than the real one.

The Old City Preservation introduces visitors to the 30 areas and the Forbidden City, which are protected and preserved.

The Beijing City Model is one of largest models of its kind. Although made to 1:750 scale, it still covers a total area of 1,300 square meters, with the actual model covering an area of 302 square meters. The model is integrated with aerial photographs, which occupy 1,000 square meters of floor space.This City Model shows how Beijing looks today, ,as well as how it will look in the future.
