IFC combines green mission and money-making

William Trant Beloe, senior operations officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), introduced the China Utility-Based Energy Efficiency Finance Program (CHUEE). He said that people have not recognized the vast energy-efficient and renewable energy opportunities. Beloe explained how the IFC helps local banks identify the opportunities that are sensible both for the banks and for its clients. Beloe said the IFC needs to raise general market awareness to facilitate cooperation among all partners.

Beloe also explained how individuals can do their part to cut green house emission. The program will work more closely with the small and medium-sized enterprises to focus more on energy-efficient construction and water usage.
