A new road sets to break the hardship of the Derung people, who will no longer have to suffer a long bumpy journey when leaving Dulongjiang in northern Yunnan province. It is a community that had been shut off for six months of the year when the existing dirt road became impassible in winter.
China Daily's Hu Yongqi went to investigate.
