Suzhou Kunqu Opera Theatre of Jiangsu province, formerly known as Sukun Theater of Jiangsu province, was founded in 1956 and played both Kunqu Opera and Suju Opera. Over the years, the theater has fostered four generations of outstanding performers of "Ji", "Cheng", "Hong" and "Yang" (which means to inherit and promote) of Kunqu artists of over a hundred.

The creator takes the four famous beauties of ancient China Xi Shi, Wang Zhaojun, Diao Chan and Yang Yuhuan as her subjects and gives them new names and new lives from a new perspective. The drama seeks to decrypt the spiritual world and deep demands of innocent lives that are lost in a tumultuous world through the expression of the characters' lives, the voice of soul salvation since the dawn of time and the ultimate hope for returning home.
