Li: Rapid progress in China-Belarus cooperation

China is willing to better synergize development strategies with Belarus and deepen bilateral pragmatic cooperation, Premier Li Keqiang said on Friday.

Li made the remarks when meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Rumas on Friday during the sidelines of the 17th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of Government in Tajik capital Dushanbe.

Noting that China-Belarus cooperation has been moving rapidly, Li told Rumas that bilateral cooperation on Belt and Road construction has reaped early benefits, with the successful implementation of the China-Belarus industrial park.

He added that China is willing to further align its development strategy with

Belarus, intensify cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and expand cooperation in tourism and education.

Rumas told Li that Belarus is willing to enhance cooperation with China under the Belt and Road Initiative through the platform of the China-Belarus industrial park. He also said that his country is willing to take the opportunity of this year's Belarus-China Tourism Year program to bolster tourism cooperation.

Belarus would also like to enhance cooperation with China on education and among universities and colleges, he said.
