What we do for an unusual Spring Festival

Though I can't go back to Taiwan for this year's Spring Festival, I feel more excited! I've heard so many times the celebration is more cheerful on the mainland!
My initial plan for the holiday was taking my bride-to-be, a native Shanghai resident, back to my hometown to let her experience the festive atmosphere there. Now it's the other way around, but I feel even happier about it.
Mandatory quarantine is needed both for going to Taiwan and returning to Shanghai, for at least 28 days – it's quite time-consuming, so I gave up the idea of going home for Spring Festival.
But I understand the policy, and my family back in Taiwan shares the same feeling. It's for our own good.
Due to my work, I may not return home until the quarantine policy is loosened. I plan to walk around in Shanghai during the holiday and see the different traditions between Taiwan and the mainland.
