Sports expert: Beijing Winter Olympics carry greater meaning amid pandemic

Sport has the power to bring different races, ethnicities, religions and nations together. The Beijing2022 Winter Olympics offers the opportunity "to take our minds off all of the issues that we're dealing with today in terms of the pandemic, said Vince Gennaro, the associate dean of New York University's Tisch Institute for Global Sport.
"And having the opportunity to really immerse ourselves in watching the greatest athletes in the world compete, I do think that's something we very much all around the globe look forward to," he said.
