Top regulator meets with US-China Business Council

Chinese and US enterprises are interdependent in the global industrial chain, and the essence of bilateral cooperation is mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, the country's top industry regulator said.

Zhang Yunming, vice-minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said China will unswervingly promote high-level opening up and the country welcomes enterprises from all countries, including the US, to expand their investment in China, share huge opportunities in the Chinese market and achieve high-quality development.

Zhang made the remarks in a meeting with Craig Allen, president of the US-China Business Council, and a string of representatives from US companies in Beijing on Thursday, according to the MIIT which disclosed the meeting on Monday.

Allen said US enterprises are confident in investing in China and hope to continue to participate in China's development.

The council is willing to play a better role as a bridge to further deepen China-US investment and trade cooperation, Allen said.
