Beijing community leads the way in grassroots governance
During the event, local residents, community workers, new employment group representatives and students shared personal stories, illustrating how grassroots governance has transformed their lives.
Wu Haibo, a deliveryman who has worked in Xiaoguan sub-district for 18 years, said the community's care facilities and support from local residents make his work more comfortable.
"Xiaoguan makes me feel at home," he said, adding that he hopes to contribute more to the neighborhood.
At the event, Xiaoguan local government released its development vision themed "Xiaoguan Blueprint: The Future Is Here," outlining priorities such as urban renewal, smart governance, improved business services and expanded elderly care networks.
Experts and policymakers discussed new development pathways for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, stressing the importance of systematic planning, digital governance tools and inclusive public services.
