Valentino illuminates the Year of the Horse

Liu Zhenyi's "Elixir" series transforms the healing imagery of medicinal plants into illuminated lantern installations. Vein-like textures emerge gradually through shifting light and shadow within the lampshade. Together, the lanterns create a space between reality and dreams, where light flows slowly, evoking memories of nature.

Cai Liechao's installation combines his works "Polar Star System," "Pyramid System," and "Tower." The symmetrical pagoda tower lantern corridor connects the flexible and robust pyramid clusters with the vast polar stars. Enhanced by mirrored surfaces, the work expands the perceived space within the narrow yet solemn space of the Tianhou Temple, blending ritual atmosphere with architectural clarity and visual lightness.

In addition, Valentino presented traditional Chinese crafts and cuisine, creating an immersive experience that combines Chinese aesthetic heritage with contemporary creative expression. In the courtyard on the first floor, paper-cut spring couplets set a festive tone while traditional games such as pitch-pot and goldfish fishing revived historical customs and ancient playful rituals among the blue bricks. Hanging lanterns marked the passing of time and welcomed blessings for the year ahead.
