A series of photos uploaded online by the magazine Forbidden City, run by the Palace Museum, went viral. The photos taken each with a hand holding an old photo, were dubbed by Sina Weibo users as "Time travel at the Forbidden City". With part of the historical architectures in the old photo fitted in the present scene, the photos create a feeling of traveling in history.
