政協(xié)委員聲援北京申冬奧

With less than five months to go before the International Olympic Committee chooses the host city for the 2022 Winter Olympics, Chinese political advisors have voiced full support for Beijing's bid at the annual session of the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
??? 還剩不到五個(gè)月，國際奧委會(huì)將宣布2022年冬季奧林匹克運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)的主辦城市。全國政協(xié)委員們在一年一度的全國人民政治協(xié)商會(huì)議上全力聲援北京申辦冬奧會(huì)。

Basketball legend Yao Ming, one of the highest-profile CPPCC member, believes that Beijing's bid for the Winter Olympics will take sport in China to new level.
??? 作為一名最引人矚目的政協(xié)委員，籃球巨星姚明相信如果北京成功申辦冬奧會(huì)，將帶領(lǐng)中國體育事業(yè)進(jìn)入新的高度。

"The Beijing 2022 bid would make Chinese people understand more about sport, and as the Winter Olympics feature more outdoor events than the Summer Games, it will get more Chinese involved in sport," said the former NBA All-Star center.
??? “北京2022冬奧會(huì)將能讓人民更好地認(rèn)識(shí)體育運(yùn)動(dòng)，因?yàn)槎瑠W會(huì)比夏天的奧運(yùn)會(huì)有更多的戶外項(xiàng)目，它將能讓更多的中國人參與進(jìn)來，”這位前NBA全明星賽的中鋒說。

Yao, who retired from basketball in 2011 because of a foot injury and now runs the Chinese Basketball Association's Shanghai Sharks club, was named last month an ambassador for the Beijing 2022 Bid.
??? 姚明自從2011年因腳傷從籃球場上退役以來，目前正經(jīng)營著中國籃球協(xié)會(huì)的上海鯊魚隊(duì)。他在上個(gè)月被邀請(qǐng)作為北京申辦2022年冬奧會(huì)的形象大使。

"I am honored to play a part in Beijing's 2022 bid," said Yao.
??? “我很榮幸地能為2022年北京冬奧申辦出一份力！”姚明說。

"Beijing lost out in the bid race for the 2000 Olympics but won the second time - for the 2008 Games. Those have become unforgettable memories of many Chinese people. I was too young to contribute to either bid, but this time I will do my best," he added.
??? “北京與2000年奧運(yùn)會(huì)失之交臂，但在第二次申請(qǐng)2008年時(shí)成功了。這對(duì)很多中國人來說已經(jīng)是難以忘懷的回憶了。當(dāng)時(shí)我還很年輕，無法為上兩次的申辦出力，但這一次我會(huì)盡全力的。”他補(bǔ)充道。

Han Aiping, also a CPPCC member whose daily work is promoting sports at the grassroots level, said that hosting an Winter Olympics in China can further popularize healthy life style in the world's most populous nation.
??? 同是政協(xié)委員的韓愛萍，每天奔走于向草根階層推廣體育運(yùn)動(dòng)。她說，申辦冬奧會(huì)，能在這個(gè)世界上人口最多的國家，深入推廣健康的生活方式。

"Since the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Chinese people have had more profound understanding of sport, and the national fitness drive has gained more and more attention from the public. I believe, if we win the Winter Olympics bid, the mass enthusiasm in sports, especially winter sports, will go to a new level," said Han, a retired badminton player who won multiple world titles in 1980s.
??? “自從2008年奧運(yùn)會(huì)以來，中國人民更深入地了解了體育運(yùn)動(dòng)，全民健身運(yùn)動(dòng)贏得了大眾廣泛的關(guān)注。我相信，如果我們贏得了冬奧會(huì)的舉辦權(quán)，大眾對(duì)體育運(yùn)動(dòng)，尤其是冬季體育運(yùn)動(dòng)的熱情將會(huì)去到一個(gè)新的高度，”韓愛萍說，她是曾在1980年代贏得多項(xiàng)羽毛球世界獎(jiǎng)牌。

Li Guoping, head of the Beijing Sports Medicine Hospital, has noticed a raising enthusiasm in winter sports since Beijing launched the bid for the 2022 Games.
??? 北京體育醫(yī)院院長李國平指出，自從北京開展申辦2022年冬奧會(huì)工作以來，群眾在冬季運(yùn)動(dòng)項(xiàng)目上的熱情不斷高漲。

"Patients with injuries sustained in winter sports activities increased last year. I think it somehow reflects the growing popularity of winter sports in China," said Li.
??? “去年，在冬季運(yùn)動(dòng)項(xiàng)目中受傷的病人有所增加，我認(rèn)為這從某種程度上說明中國從事冬季運(yùn)動(dòng)的人群在增長，”李國平說。

"Compared with winter sports, summer sports are better developed in China. But on the other hand, we can also say winter sports have bigger potential in our country. If our bid succeeds, such potential can be well released," he added.
??? “比起冬季運(yùn)動(dòng)，中國的夏季運(yùn)動(dòng)是發(fā)展得好些。但另一方面看來，我們也可以說冬季運(yùn)動(dòng)的發(fā)展在我國具有巨大的潛力。如果我們申辦成功，這股潛力將得到釋放。”他補(bǔ)充道。

Fellow CPPCC member Bian Zhiliang is optimistic about Beijing's chances in the two-city race with Almaty, Kazakhstan.
??? 政協(xié)委員卞志良表示對(duì)申辦冬奧會(huì)的形勢比較樂觀，認(rèn)為北京會(huì)打敗一同競爭的另一個(gè)城市——哈薩克斯坦的阿拉木圖。

"As ex-IOC president Jacques Rogge said, the 2008 Beijing Olympics was 'truly exceptional'. I believe if the IOC awards Beijing the 2022 Games, we can also deliver one of the best Winter Olympics in history," said Bian, founder of Taishan Sports Equipment Manufacture Group, an official supplier of the 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games.
??? 他說：“正如國際奧委會(huì)前主席雅克·羅格說過，北京奧運(yùn)是‘無與倫比’的。我相信，如果國際奧委會(huì)給予北京2022年冬奧主辦權(quán)，我們也能為冬奧會(huì)歷史留下輝煌的一頁。”卞志良是泰山體育產(chǎn)業(yè)集團(tuán)創(chuàng)始人，也是2008年北京奧運(yùn)及殘奧官方供應(yīng)商。

The IOC members will vote on the host city in Kuala Lumpur on July 31.
