Li Hongzhong, secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee

Li Hongzhong, male, Han, was born in August 1956 in the Changle county of the Shandong province. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in December of 1976, and started to work in August 1975. He is a graduate of Jilin University with a history degree. Currently he is an alternate member of the 17th Central Committee, the secretary of the Hubei provincial party committee and the director of provincial people's congress.

1975.08-1978.02 Graduated from middle school and went to the suburb of Shenyang city, Liaoning province where he became the commander of militia, the security officer, the secretary of Youth League and vice chairman of the revolutionary committee.

1978.02-1982.02 Majored in History at Jilin University.

1982.02-1985.04 Became an official for the secretariat of the Shenyang municipal government and deputy director of document management.

1985.04-1985.06 Secretary of the general office in the Liaoning provincial Party committee.

1985.06-1987.09 Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics Industry (specifically regarded as at the deputy county level in July 1986).

1987.09-1988.11 Secretary of the Party group in the Ministry of Electronics Industry (county level).

1988.11-1995.12 Vice mayor of Huizhou in Guangdong province and leading member of municipal Party group on secondment (regarded as at the deputy city level in October 1991).

1995.12-1996.04 Acting mayor of Huizhou city in Guangdong province and secretary of municipal leading Party group.

1996.04-2000.03 Deputy secretary of Huizhou municipal Party committee. He was also the mayor and secretary of municipal leading Party group. From September 1996 to July 1997, he studied in a one year training class at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee and attended the Harvard Kennedy School in July 1999.

2000.03-2001.02 Secretary of Huizhou municipal Party committee.

2001.02-2002.05 Vice governor of Guangdong province and member of provincial leading Party group.

2002.05-2003.01 Member of the standing committee of Guangdong provincial Party committee, vice governor and member of provincial leading Party group.

2003.01-2003.06 Member of standing committee of Guangdong provincial Party committee, executive vice governor and deputy secretary of leading party group.

2003.06-2004.02 Member of the standing committee for the Guangdong provincial Party committee, deputy secretary of Shenzhen municipal Party committee, acting mayor of Shenzhen and secretary of leading Party group. 

2004.02-2005.03 Member of standing committee for Guangdong provincial Party committee, deputy secretary of Shenzhen municipal Party committee, mayor of Shenzhen and secretary of leading Party group.

2005.03-2005.06 Member of standing committee of Guangdong provincial Party committee, secretary of Shenzhen municipal Party committee and mayor of Shenzhen city.  2005.06-2007.11 Member of the standing committee for Guangdong provincial Party committee, secretary of Shenzhen municipal Party committee, director of Shenzhen municipal people's congress, secretary of leading party group and first secretary of the Party committee of Shenzhen garrison.  2007.11-2007.12 Deputy secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee and director of Shenzhen municipal people's congress.

2007.12-2008.01 Deputy secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee and acting governor of Hubei province.

2008.01-2010.12 Deputy secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee, governor of Hubei province and secretary of leading Party group of the Hubei provincial government.

2010.12-2011.02 Secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee.

2011.02- present Secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee and director of Hubei provincial people's congress. He is an alternate member of the 16th and 17th Central Committee, and representative to the 9th, 10th and 11th National People's Congress.
