Wang Guosheng, governor of Hubei province

Wang Guosheng, male, was born in May 1956 in the Dong'e county, Shandong province. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in June 1975 and started to work in March 1974. He has a Master’s degree from the postgraduate classes at the Shandong provincial Party school, majoring in politics. Currently he is an alternate member of the 17th Central Committee, the deputy secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee and the governor of Hubei province.

1974.03-1976.11 He was a graduate of the Daqiao commune in Dong’e county, Shandong province and the acting secretary of the Youth League.

1976.11-1981.09 Worked in the office of the research and publicity department of the Liaocheng municipal Party committee. He also worked in the cultural and education bureau of the Dong’e county.  1981.09-1983.07 Majored in political science at the Social Science School of Shandong University.

1983.07-1985.05 Member of institutional reform team in the Guan county, Shandong province and the secretary of Liaocheng municipal Party committee.

1985.05-1991.10 Director of the organization department for the Liaocheng municipal Party committee and was chief of the cadre section. From January 1990 to October 1991 acted as office director of the senior citizens’ committee for Liaocheng city.

1991.10-1995.02 Member of Liaocheng municipal Party committee in Shandong province, director of organization department, secretary of Gaotang county Party committee and deputy secretary of the prefectural Party committee.

1995.02-1997.12 Deputy secretary of Liaocheng municipal Party committee in Shandong province.

1997.12-1998.06 Vice director of Shandong provincial labor department and deputy secretary of the leading Party group.

1998.06-2000.01 Director of Shandong provincial trade department, deputy secretary of leading Party group and office director of provincial office for finance and trade.

2000.01-2000.08 Secretary of working committee of Jiangsu provincial Party committee. From September 1997 to June 2000, studied politics in the postgraduates’ class at the Shandong provincial Party school.

2000.08-2001.11 Secretary of Lianyungang municipal Party committee in Jiangsu province.

2001.11-2001.12 Member of the standing committee of Jiangsu provincial Party committee and secretary of Lianyungang municipal Party committee in Jiangsu province.

2001.12-2004.06 Member of the standing committee of Jiangsu provincial Party committee and director of the Jiangsu provincial publicity department.

2004.06-2008.04 Member of the standing committee of Jiangsu provincial Party committee and director of the Jiangsu provincial organization department.

2008.04-2010.09  Deputy secretary of Jiangsu provincial Party committee and director of the Jiangsu provincial organization department.

2010.09-2010.12 Deputy secretary of Jiangsu provincial Party committee.

2010.12-2011.02 Deputy secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee, vice governor of Hubei province, acting governor of Hubei province and secretary of the leading Party group of Hubei's provincial government.

2011.02- present Deputy secretary of Hubei provincial Party committee, governor of Hubei province, acting governor of Hubei province and secretary of the leading Party group of Hubei’s provincial government.

He is an alternate member of the 17th Central Committee and deputy to the 11th National People's Congress.
