Hulunbuir: A place where to have an experience as a Mongolia

Hailar is the center of the Hulunbuir municipal government and on the way to the Hulunbuir grasslands. The surrounding landscape is magnificent, especially the Hulunbuir grasslands, the top attraction for most tourists to Hulunbuir.

Attraction 1: Hulunbuir grasslands

Though there is no green grass or birds in winter, the grassland becomes a splendid land of snow at around -30 ℃. The snowy period lasts over 200 days on the Hulunbuir grasslands. The boundless snow-coated grassland and the culture of local minorities like Mongolians, Ewenki, Oroqens and Russians makes the grassland an attractive destination even in winter.

Tourists can not only appreciate the snowy scenery, but also the nadam,a traditional Mongolian festival. They can also experience the lives of locals, such as horse racing.

Where it is: The northern part of Inner Mongolia, especially in Chen Barag Banner.

Attraction 2: Huhenuoer Grassland Scenic Spot

Huhenuoer Grassland is located in the Chen Barag Banner, the center part of Hulunbuir grasslands. It is 46 kilometers from Hailar and one of the most representative scenic spots for grassland folk customs. Tourists can take a nomadic tour, visit herdsmen’s houses, ride horses or camels, enjoy authentic Mongolian food and watch traditional performances.
