Yanjiang highway

The "five horizontal roads, six vertical and one ring" highway network has been completed and cost 6.26 billion in the first three years of the "11th Five-Year Plan", 2.6 times more than that during the "10th Five-Year Plan" period. In 2007, Nantong’s longest and highest-grade highway — the Yanjiang highway -- was open to traffic. The expansion program of 204 national highways, as the number one program of Nantong highway in 2008, overcame all disadvantages and sped up the process. Hai’an and Tongzhou sections opened to traffic at the end of 2008. It is estimated that the Rugao section and the city district section will be open to traffic at the end of this year.
