First 119 Loving Hearts Fund launches in development zone

An opening ceremony celebrating the launch of the development zone's charity, known as the 119 Loving Hearts Fund, and the Mo Wensui volunteer development zone fire brigade substation was held in the development zone fire squadron on the afternoon of Dec 20, 2012. About 70 firefighters formed a special volunteer team and raised 30,000 yuan ($4,814) as the first donation for the fund.

The development zone fire brigade substation established the Mo Wensui volunteer substation and founded the 119 Loving Hearts Fund because of its firefighters’ intense desire to help the poor and donate money for education. Seventy firefighters in the fire brigade joined the volunteer team. The team is the first volunteer service organization formed by firefighters with the first fire protection fund in the city. The Mo Wensui substation and the 119 Loving Hearts Fund will serve as a platform for those wanting to donate to good causes. The donations raised will be used to help senior citizens without families and to subsidize education for poor students. The East Middle School directly supports the 119 Loving Hearts Fund and will provide several needy students with financial aid every year. The fund has already helped three poor families and five students to date.
