POWERCHINA signs Electromechanical Equipment EPC Contract

The signing ceremony of the Electromechanical Equipment EPC Contract for the Trung Son hydropower project was launched on Aug 15 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The joint venture is led by?POWERCHINA subsidiary HYDROCHINA, who won the project in an earlier bid.

The Trung Son hydropower project has a total installed capacity of 240MW. Its total loan amount is the most the World Bank has ever lent to Vietnam. The project is also the last large scale key hydropower project approved in Vietnam. The bidding of the project was conducted worldwide and had strict technical requirements. The competition among the bidders was very intense. The award of the project is of great significance. It reflects the recognition of POWERCHINA’s technical strengths by the World Bank and the investor, and further expands the brand influence of POWERCHINA in the Vietnamese market. The project is a good starting point for China-Vietnam cooperation in the power industry.
