There will be a grand opening ceremony in Huangdao at the city of Qingdao,East China's Shandong province for the 26th Qingdao International Beer Festival on July 29, in the beer square at Golden Beach, according to a press conference in Qingdao's the West Coast New Area.

This year's event, which runs through Aug 29, is being announced as a "smart beer festival" with smart operations and advanced technology in everything, including security, services and performances. Its intelligent robots are expected to help ensure security, sell beer and guide tourists and the organizer are setting up a "mobile intelligent service platform" where visitors can book tickets, reserve hotels, and check transportations.

It will have a wide variety of performances, a live-action show, intelligent robot performance, and fantastic light show, and plenty of drinking under a huge tent, and a tour of the beer museum. The live-action performance, titled "Dreaming in Langya", will combine lights, videos and other multi-media methods with the natural landscape to bring audiences a unique watching experience.

As for the beers, in addition to the domestic ones, there will be many world-famous brands from Germany, Australia, Korea, and elsewhere which are exquisite and exotic, along with some tasty food. And, the city's new beer museum, which covers a 10,000-square-meter space, is expected to become a new scenic spot for the festival. It contains a culture exhibition, history room, beer displays, brewing techniques, and entertainment, to give people an understanding of beer's development and history and the charms of beer culture through interactive technology.

This year's colorful array of bottle beer, the decorations, and avenue of lights are sure to make tourists feel that they're in a city full of color and coastal style that never sleeps.
