Should the well-educated have more children?

My husband has a doctor's degree from a famous university but we don't want another child. I am so busy with my work that I cannot spare enough time even now to take care of my child. Most well-educated people, identified as the middle-class, can only ensure a single child has the best education. They don’t have enough money to support another. Some of my friends aged over 30 are still single or reluctant to have babies because they have been overwhelmed by high housing prices in big cities.
