During the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 31 to Feb 6, many major manufacturers in Liangjiang New Area continued operations and production. There were a total of nearly 40,000 staff members working over the holiday to churn out products for automobiles, laptops and ICs.

Compal Electronics (Chongqing) Co, for example, had more than 2,000 workers sticking to their own duties during the festival, ensuring 70 percent of its normal output. Compal Electronics is reportedly the world's second largest laptop manufacturer.

With 158 in-service employees over the Spring Festival, Chongqing Zhixin Industrial Group has been at regular production levels since Feb 4.

Hundreds of industrial robots in the company's workshops are producing auto spare parts to meet needs of China's first-line auto brands, including Changan Motors, Great Wall Motors, and Changan Ford.

Jiang Jing, general manager of the firm's Chongqing plants, said that along with the warming-up of the global automobile market, the order of the company, which lies at the upper reaches of the industrial chain, is rising dramatically.

In recent years, Zhixin has invested billions of yuan in the intelligent transformation of workshops. It has also developed eight information systems, raising the firm's automation rate to 95 percent.

AT&S (Chongqing) Co had more than 570 staff members working over the holiday. The third phase of its semiconductor mounting plate extension construction project in Chongqing is expected to increase the market share of the company in the IC substrate technology field. The technology is widely applied in high-performance processors, computers, data centers, game machines, 5G networks, automobiles and AI.
