The Mingyue Lake Coordinative Innovation Pavilion of the Liangjiang Coordinative Innovation Zone officially began operating on May 7 in Liangjiang New Area, with its launch ceremony held that same day. The launch ceremony was attended by the new area's government leaders and representatives from R&D institutes that moved into the pavilion.

Luo Lin, director of Liangjiang's administrative committee, considered the Liangjiang Coordinative Innovation Zone as essential to Chongqing's goal of becoming a smart city. The zone is currently home to 42 research institutions, more than 10 academician expert teams, and over 1,700 innovative talents, and boasts more than 140 technology transfers and some 70 newly incubated enterprises.

He expressed belief that the new pavilion will push exchanges and cooperation among innovative entities, and expressed hope that all R&D institutes in the pavilion will leverage the resources provided by the platform, match scientific research with practical industrial needs, and make Liangjiang's industries more high-end, intelligent and sustainable.

Long Teng, vice president of the Beijing Institute of Technology, delivered a themed speech via video link, expressing gratitude for the generous support of the Chongqing and Liangjiang governments for the Beijing Institute of Technology Chongqing Innovation Center since its establishment three years ago, and cited the pavilion as a new starting point for the university to contribute to the new area’s high-quality development.
