Freight Agency Branch of Shanghai International Airport Co.Ltd.

As an entity directly affiliated to Shanghai International Airport and controlled by the Shanghai Airport Authority, the Freight Agency Branch of Shanghai International Airport Co carries out level-1 freight forwarding businesses upon approval of the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. It joined IATA after receiving approval in January 2002. Relying on the business management advantages resulting from the establishment of two airports in one city, the Shanghai Airport Authority, Freight Agency Branch maintains good cooperation relationships with domestic and foreign airlines, enjoys unparalleled geographic advantages, has comprehensive operation conditions and operates a high-quality professional air transportation service team. The branch is also actively contributing to the construction of an “easy clearance” airport logistics system in Shanghai.

To date, altogether 10 domestic airlines and 38 airlines from 30 countries and regions have opened nearly 300 flights and flight routes to Shanghai. A total of 94 domestic cities and 66 cities from 30 countries and regions have established flights to Shanghai. Its annual cargo and mail handling capacity ranks the first in China. Shanghai International Airport Co carries out ground service businesses for nearly 20 domestic and foreign airlines on an agency basis, including Xiamen Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Yangtze River Cargo Transportation, Shandong Airlines, China Postal Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, Alitalia, KLM, Qantas, Emirates Airline, Virgin Atlantic, UPS, ANA and Air Canada. The Freight Agency Branch mainly carries out international and domestic freight sales agency businesses, agency businesses for import and export express parcels, and comprehensive logistics services, including customs declaration and inspection application agency, bonded business, transportation supervision and management, domestic delivery and other related businesses. 

The Freight Agency Branch has warehouses with total area reaching 3,000 square meters and goods transfer sites covering a total area of more than 6,000 square meters at Hongqiao Airport. It has more than 70 forklifts, tractors, customs supervising and managing vehicles, trucks and other equipment, and can provide various transportation and delivery services for customers. All transportation vehicles are equipped with GPS for customs and can be tracked and monitored the entire way. The Freight Forwarding Branch has warehouses covering a total of 5,000 square meters and various pieces of operating equipment in the customs centralized supervision and management area of Pudong International Airport. It has a bonded warehouse and supervised warehouse with a total area of 3,000 square meters and auxiliary offices of 900 square meters in Waigaoqiao Bonded Zone. It is a leader in providing “non-stop air transportation” services. The branch also operates multiple dangerous goods warehouses and refrigerating and freezing storehouses in the freight depots of Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport, which can be used for storing special goods. The Freight Forwarding Branch has also built a special freight business system by establishing a website that allows customers to book space online. Professional agency personnel have undergone years of training to provide 24-hour logistics and JIT services.

United Express Parcels Handling Center in Pudong Airport

The United Express Parcels Handling Center in Pudong Airport lies in the Eastern Freight Area of Pudong Airport and to the west of the Northern Cargo Apron of the Phase II Flight Area. It covers an area of 83,300 square meters and has a total building area of 34,900 square meters. It consists of five express parcel warehouses and one general office building. To date, FedEx, UPS, DHL, TNT and more than 20 other companies have set up operations in the center. The center provides “one-stop” services. Customs, inspection and quarantine, and civil aviation safety inspection authorities have operations in the center. All customs clearance formalities can be performed there.

Shanghai Airport Kuaitong Property Management is responsible for leasing, operating and managing houses, facilities and equipment in the center.
