Chinese healthcare innovations debut at World Health Expo Dubai 2026

Shanghai Renji Hospital unveiled multiple cutting-edge smart healthcare innovations at the World Health Expo Dubai 2026, which kicked off on Monday, highlighting Shanghai's prowess in medical innovation and its open stance in the global healthcare sector.

The "Renji Smart Hospital Solution V1.0" made its global launch at the event, the world's second-largest professional medical exhibition, featuring intelligent operating rooms, ICUs, wards, and an internet hospital platform, presenting a new paradigm of patient-centric, AI-driven future hospitals.

Xia Qiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Renji Hospital, which is affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, emphasized that international healthcare endeavors are not just about treatment but also about sharing technology and extending life.

A star innovation at the hospital's exhibition booth is the "AI doctor assistant", or AIDA, which drew significant attention. AIDA is a specialist large model and intelligent decision-making platform developed from over 14 million service interactions and clinical data from Renji's internet hospital and experts' clinical experience. It currently supports 18 specialties at the hospital.

During the expo, Renji Hospital signed an agreement with HarleyDoc, a United Kingdom-based private healthcare service, to establish a bidirectional cross-border medical channel. Sun Yun, vice-president of Renji Hospital, said the collaboration will facilitate overseas patients' access to advanced treatments in Shanghai, such as reproductive medicine and complex surgeries, with post-operative care managed through a remote platform and AI system.
