Audi high

A picture of an Audi that was being hoisted to a rooftop in Lishui, Zhejiang province, has gone viral on the Internet with people making jokes online that it was because the city has too limited parking space.

The lift was done by an elderly man who is not getting on with his son-in-law, Qianjiang Evening News reported. 

Marry at 100

A 96-year-old man in Jiangsu province recently announced to his family that he had a girlfriend who has moved into his local senior housing apartment.

The man has promised to his girlfriend they will be marry when he is 100-years-old and his announcement has been applauded among his family members, jschina.com.cn reported.

Poison student

Authorities from Tsinghua University have contacted the parents of Zhu Ling over claims. The student was poisoned 19 years ago, Lawyer Li Chunguang said on his Weibo.

Zhu, an outstanding female student from Tsinghua University suffered from a mysterious illness, which was later diagnosed as thallium poisoning 19 years ago and has been paralyzed since. Her roommate, Sun Wei, was alleged to be the only one with access to the substance. 

Crab fun

Li Yundi, a famous Chinese classical pianist, posted a photo on his Weibo on Thursday night to display his happiness to eat crabs.

All the eight crabs in front of me are all my food, he said and made jokes that his hands will become crab claws tomorrow. The picture was forwarded more than 5,000 times.

Fit denial

China's Ministry of National Defense has denied US media reports that 60 percent of Chinese college students who applied to join the army failed to pass the physical examination. At a news conference, the source of the statistics was questioned, and a spokesman said the number of new soldiers recruited among college students has been on the rise, Chinanews.com reported. 

Golden 2014

The People's Bank of China will launch a set of limited edition coins on Oct 10 to mark 2014, the Chinese year of the Horse, which consists of nine golden coins and seven silver ones. The coins will be circulated from 18 to 120,000 pieces at maximum, with the most valuable one made of ten-kilograms of pure gold and a 100,000 yuan ($16,340) denomination, business.sohu reported.  

Monday jam

A government sponsored transportation enterprise has warned that parts of the highways in Beijing are expected to see traffic congestion from the afternoon of Sept 30, the first travel peak before the toll-free policy starts on Oct 1 until National Holiday ends on Oct 7. Past experience showed Beijing - Hong Kong - Macao, Beijing-Kaifeng, Beijing-Chengde and Beijing-Tibet would be the most busy expressways, news.ifeng reported.
